SEO Marketing Strategies

Search engine optimization (SEO) is the process of improving the volume and value of traffic to a web site from search engines via “normal” or un-paid (”organic” or “algorithmic”) search results as opposed to search engine marketing (SEM) which deals with paid insertion. In general, the higher a site appears in the search results listing, the more visitors it will receive from the search engine.

So, you can already imagine if you have a blog or website in the niche of insurance (I used this example because a friend of mine asked about it), first you’d want to go deeper into the niche. This means focus on “car insurance” rather than just insurance; so if your blog is on car insurance, and every time someone typed in car insurance in the Google search box, good SEO practices would allow you to be on the first page of the natural listing results (the picture below shows an example).

If your website is on the first page and you’re selling a product, I can tell you from first hand experience that you will make a chuck of change as long as you remain there; especially if the keyword you’re listed under gets a lot of search queries.

How do you get to the top of Google, Yahoo, or Bing? I couldn’t possibly tell you in one posting but I will give you an analogy. In the real world if I want to get a lot of traffic to my business; I’d go to where the biggest car insurance agent is and set up my shop right next to his and just get trickle down traffic from people who are tired of waiting in line, were turned away, or couldn’t afford the head honcho.

If I wasn’t that lucky to get the plot of land near him I’d have to go ask the head honcho personally to send me anyone that couldn’t afford his services or products, or who were turned away for credit purposes or whatever, and I’d tell the head honcho, all the traffic you send me, I will give you half the profits. This way he has more of an incentive to send me valuable traffic or customers.

The last way to get traffic in the real world is celebrity influence. This is where you get Michael Jordan, Donald Trump, and the Tom Brady’s of the world to recommend you as the go to guy or gal in car insurance.

So how does this translate in the internet and SEO world? Build your website or blog as close to the head honcho as possible. It’s a slick move, but your appearance and interior has to be like the leader in the field. If you’re able to do this the next step is to contact them and see if you can make a joint venture with them. This is how I got started in the pay-per-click field, I contacted a big local SEM company and asked them send me customers that couldn’t afford them and I contracted to split the profits. This simply builds your customer base.

The last thing is the celebrity influence. You may not know a MJ or D. Jeter, but you can know the celebrities of the internet marketing world and get them to link to your website or blog.

In the internet, SEO marketing is the way to go if you want your business to be seen and noticed. Targeted traffic will get you paying customers if your message is valuable. Till next time, strengthen your SEO Marketing Strategy.

All the Best,

Blog Marketing Your Interest

Many of you are experts in something… and if not you have a general interest and zeal on a topic that could probably be making you a lot of money if you just tapped the rock. What do I mean? Well, a few years back I learned of a stay-at-home mom was clocking in $800,000 a year (I think it’s per month now) by simply blogging about her stay at home “mommying,” I thought wow, her husband wasn’t expecting that. It was blog marketing at it’s best.

Well she simply started blogging and getting followers and readers and advertising on her blog became something of interest to businesses and wow, she is bringing in more than the ole man. Suppose you are a fanatic with something. You can begin blogging about it and with the help of social media outlets like facebook, twitter, and digg; you can begin to have a pretty decent readership.

Readership opens the doors to plenty of opportunities to earn money; and the funny thing is that you wouldn’t even have to leave the house. So allow me to give you some tips for blogging or blog marketing that will have you moving in a positive direction.

Get a blog, either free, meaning it is hosted by another site or get your own, which you will have to pay for (no more than $40-50 bucks). When you have it set up, blog regularly. Another thing you will want to do is to keep your blog thematically focused. Don’t talk about hotdogs one day, and then next day you’re talking about Lamborghinis; keep it on one theme.

Take a moment each day to go to related blogs and comment on their post. This will help some of there common readers come back to your blog and possibly become readers of your blog consistently.

Lastly, bring on guest writers and submit your blog to different authority sites such as blogtopsites.com, ezinearticles.com, etc to get yourself some extra readers. If you do these you’ll be off to a great start; but do not get caught up in income right away, focus on your readers and everything else will fall in place.
